Kenmare Shamrocks

Another two league encounters under our belts with two points to show, lost away to St. Marys and beat Templenoe at home. We are sitting nicely in the division 2 table, sharing top spot with Rathmore and John Mitchel’s, with Templenoe two spots back with a game in hand. Both games were played in lovely summer conditions with the game against Templenoe attracting a huge crowd to Fr. Breen Park. Both teams were shorn a few regulars, the blue and white missing a few through injury and Kerry Junior commitments. Still it was a good game, The opening and closing segments of the game very tight with two good goals thrown in mid-way through the second half, Adrian Spillane for Templenoe and Sean O’Leary replying a few minutes later for Kenmare to seal the game for the black and red.
Well done to those players who were in action for Kerry last week, Stephen O’Brien coming on early in the first half against Tipperary and doing very well, that trade mark pace very evident. Tadhg Morley and Gavin Crowley were in action for the Kerry Junior earlier in the day, well done to the Templenoe men.
The Shamrocks Junior team has been flying the last few weeks with a two point loss to St. Marys last week a minor blip. A win against Waterville in our last game will secure a semi final berth, well done to the team and management.
