Blackwater Women’s Group Annual Outing
The annual outing this year, on Tuesday 25th August, is to West Cork. Leaving Blackwater Tavern at 9am sharp, travelling via Glengariffe and Bantry to Mizen Head, Crookhaven, Schull & Ballydehob. Morning coffee in Manning’s of Ballylickey, lunch in O’Sullivan’s Bar Crookhaven. Ring Mary in Blackwater Tavern 064 6682003 for further information.

Blackwater Sports
The Annnual Blackwater Sports takes place on Sunday 30th Aug in Old Dromore Sportsfield Blackwater. Registration is at 11.30n, Sports at 12noon; Fancy Dress – Sports – Novelty Events – Lucky Dip – Adult & Child Baking Comp – Mens & Womens Races – Adult Tug of War. Great family day of entertainment. Refreshments will be served and there will be a Shop on site. For Insurance purposes parents must be members of Templenoe GAA Club or Blackwater Women’s Group; membership of Blackwater Women’s Group €5, payable on the day.

Trip to Kilkenny in September
Blackwater Women’s Group are arranging a two night mid-week break in the Ormonde Hotel Kilkenny in Sept. Contact Mary in Blackwater Tavern 064-6682003 for further information.

Blackwater/Templenoe Community Text Alert
You can join the Community Text Alert System for €10 and receive texts from the Gardaí with safety advice or with information on suspicious behaviour in the locality. Application forms are available in Blackwater Tavern. Remember to put the no of Kenmare Garda Station 064-6641177 into your phone and call them to report all bogus callers or suspicious cars operating in the area.

CPR AED Training
CPR AED Training will take place in Blackwater Tavern in September. If you wish to train give in your name to Mary in Blackwater Tavern 064-6682003. Training takes 4 hours and covers CPR, use of the Defibrillator (AED) and Choking. There are 5 Defibrillators in the Blackwater/Templenoe area at Spillanes, Blackwater Tavern, Templenoe GAA Grounds, Old Dromore Sportsfield Blackwater and one at John Sheehan’s Dirreen Blackwater. All were recently serviced and all can be accessed via a break glass key box. Keys are also issued to those trained in CPR.
