Plans for 2015 Kenmare Choral Festival well advanced

Plans for the 2015 Kenmare Choral Festival are now well advanced, and it promises to be a real feast for the ears!
This bijou Festival is going from strength to strength, and the programme for 2015 is our most ambitious to date. The Festival opens with the now traditional Gala Concert on Friday December 4th, featuring the Festival Choir, Niamh O’Brien and a host of wonderful local talent.
On Saturday morning Ben O’Hanlon will host a workshop, open to everyone, and then the day will be filled with the best of choral music as competing choirs try to out-sing each other to win one of the coveted trophies.
On Saturday evening, there will be the wonderfully uplifting Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols to ease us all into the Christmas season.
On Sunday morning visiting choirs will take part in all religious services, and on Sunday afternoon, it’s your turn, when the Festival Choir will lead the assembled crowds in a rousing Christmas sing-along to really get you into the spirit of the season.
Then, to round off this wonderful weekend of music on a suitably high note, the renowned Fleischmann Choir and the Cork School of Music Symphony Orchestra will give a concert on Sunday evening.
Keep an eye on our website, www.kenmarechoralfestival.com, for further details of times and venues.
If you would like to be part of the Festival Choir, rehearsals are held in Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine each Friday at 8pm, so come along and join us!
