InterKenmare FC 2015 30 years serving the community

AGM
The Inter Kenmare AGM was held on Friday August 21st last. It was well attended on the night and, after the chairperson and secretaries address, a new committee was elected .The new chairperson elected on the night was Aidan Murnane who has over the last six years been involved in the youth development side of the club. Last year he stepped away from the club committee to further his studies, but continued training the U17 team. On acceptance of the position he felt humbled and honoured that the members had entrusted in him such an honour on the 30th anniversary.
The committee was elected and consists of;
Chairperson Aidan Murnane.
Treasurer Majella O Sullivan.
Secretary Alan O Sullivan.
PRO Sean Murphy.
Youth Development Officer Tom O Sullivan.
The committee is Dan Keane, Ken O’Sullivan, John Holland, Declan O’Neill, John Granville, Jimmy O’Sullivan, Shannon Ryan, David Fox, Mark Granville, and Donal O’Sullivan.
Thank you again to the outgoing committee for the work done last year and we hope to see them at games and special occasions during the year ahead.
McDonald’s future Football
The club would like to congratulate Kieran Harrington and John Granville with their participation and involvement at U8 level in the Mc Donald’s future Football programme which was rolled out over the summer, in which they qualified out of Kerry and went to the Munster Final and from there they have been called to represent Munster at the All Ireland Finals that are taking place on Saturday 3rd of October at the newly built High Performance Facility at the FAI Headquarters in Abbotstown
U17 Inter Kenmare
The under 17 team played in the cup semi final over 2 weekends against Mastergeeha F.C from Kilcummin. The first game was played in Mastergeeha and Inter went 2 up with 15 minutes to go, unfortunately Mastergeeha got 1 back, and in the 8 minute of additional time drew level. The following week they played on the new state of the art pitch at the KDL headquarters which was opened 3 days earlier. Kenmare found themselves down by 2 goals at half time but got 1 back in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half. Unfortunately they were not able to score again but had over 30 shots on target on the night. A big thank you to all the lads who have played with this team all year and at least 6 or 7 of them will be in Mr John Holland (the senior manager’s) plans in the coming season.
