On your bike for a Wild Atlantic Cycle along the Ring of Beara

The 2016 Ring of Beara Cycle Kenmare is now sold out. The people of Kenmare and the Beara Peninsula will welcome 3,500 cyclists from Ireland and around the globe on Saturday 28th of May. Participants will cycle Ireland’s spectacular peninsula and embrace the unspoiled beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way.
There is a route to suit all levels of fitness from the seasoned cyclist to the casual peddler. Choose from the 140km route or the shorter 110km route. Cyclist will experience the magnificent scenery of the mountains, valleys and the rugged coastline of the Beara peninsula.
With the 3 start/finish locations of Kenmare, Castletownbere and Allihies, the cycle is accessible from all corners of the Beara peninsula. Cyclists will pass through the picturesque and quant towns, including Ardgroom, Eyeries, Castletownbere, Adrigole and Glengarriff. Participants can enjoy some food and chat at the fully stocked food stations dotted along the routes.
The event will finish with a great atmosphere and superb facilities including hot food, hot tubs, massage, entertainment and finishers’ medal for all cyclists.
This year funds raised will be distributed to the two nominated: Southwest Counselling Centre and Cancer Connect. Last year the event raised over €30,000 for these two local charities.
