U15 team win Munster title

Kenmare U15 ChampionsCongratulations to Kenmare Shamrocks GAA U15 team who did their club proud by winning the Munster U15 Super 10 Touch Competition on Saturday in Cork Institute of Technology. This is the first time the Club was represented in this competition and winning it out was an amazing achievement for this group of players and their mentors.
Kenmare qualified from their group in Kerry earlier in the month with wins over Dr. Crokes, Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane and Na Gael. In the Munster final grouping there were four groups of three teams, it was a knock out as such as only winning secured a place in the semi-final. Kenmare played Eire Og from cork, and last years title holders Carrigaline and won both games.
In the semi -final Kenmare faced Miltown/Castlemaine It was a battle with both teams level at half time. Kenmare played against the wind in the second half and produced great football to win by five points .Buttevant were the other semi-finalists and had beaten a much fancied Carbery Rangers in their group to get there. The final had everything, both sides level at half time and yet again Kenmare played against the wind and went on to win with a margin of five points.
The panel were Tommy Cronin, James Mc Carthy, Evan O’Callaghan, Reiner Offerins, Kane Reidy( Captain), Dan McCarthy, David Ciu Ciu, Boki Nikic, Cian O Connor, Padraig Cronin, Iarlath Brehany Hayes and Seán Lucey. Congratulations to their mentors Donal Mc Carthy and Kieran Moriarity who believed in these players and did a wonderful job in winning this Munster title.
