Pobalscoil athletes get off to an excellent start

Well done to Ms Majella Murphy’s team of Pobalscoil athletes who travelled to Waterford last month to compete in the Munster Schools Track and Field Championships which were held at the Regional Sports Track in Waterford.
The day got off to an excellent start with the first medal of the day going to Conor O’Brien who was 2nd in the Junior Boys 1200m Walk. Katie Palmer was 4th and Caoimhe Daly was 5th in the Junior Girls 1200m Walk.
Christine McCarthy was 2nd in the Inter Girls High Jump. Cormac
O’Sullivan was 2nd in the Inter Boys Triple Jump. Emma O’Regan was 3rd in the Junior Girls hurdles. Gary Randles was 4th in the Junior Boys Shot and 5th in the Javelin. Katie Palmer was 4th in the Junior Girls Long Jump. Elinor Dennison was 5th in the Inter Girls Long Jump. Rhona Randles was 1st and Alyce O’Connor was 2nd in the Junior Girls 1500m.
Well done to all our Pobalscoil athletes who have participated in school training sessions and represented the school in the cross-country, indoors and track and field competitions all during the year at Kerry, South Munster, Munster and All-Ireland levels and congratulations to all our many school medal winners right throughout the year at all the school athletic’s competitions.
