Congratulations Georgia

On July 23rd 2016, Georgia O’Brien of Kenmare Rowing and Boat Club competed in her first international event at The Home International Regatta in Cardiff. After her impressive performance at the National Rowing Championships in Cork, she got the call to represent Ireland. Georgia took silver for Ireland in the Women’s Single Scull just behind the British Champion from Scotland. Wales was 3rd and England 4th in this race. Georgia’s performance helped the Irish Junior Women’s Team secure Second Place in the event with England first, Scotland third and Wales fourth.
This is a fantastic achievement for the Club with history being made as Georgia was the first member of Kenmare Rowing and Boat Club to represent Ireland in such a prestigious event. Her coaches Noel Casey and Danny O’ Sullivan deserve huge credit for her success.
