Inter Kenmare FC news.

Haunted House. Inter Kenmare FC would like to thank everyone that helped out in making our 2016 Haunted House such an amazing experience. It took 67 volunteers to run the event each day and a lot of blood, sweat & tears went in to its creation and the feedback we received was tremendous. A special thanks to Marie Ward (face painter) Geoffroy Meynet (optician), Nick Cavanagh (photographer), Henk & Pieter Offereins (music & lights), Jimmy O’Connor (parking) & KMEG.

Santa’s Grotto. After such a successful Grotto last year the work has already begun for this year’s Santa’s Grotto. It will run in early December. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and outlets around town for more details shortly.

B season so far. The Bs made a great start to the season with a 1-0 victory over Ballymac Celtic when a mark Granville “beckamesque” 80 yard pass put Sean Murphy straight through on goal and the veteran made no mistake but in the return leg they were to have no luck and slumped to a 4-1 defeat to 10 man Ballymac, Granville brought it back level with a cracker from an indirect free kick from 40 yards but in the end Ballymac were too clinical. That was followed by a heavy away defeat to table toppers strand road who were just too good on the day. AC Athletic were up next away and though the better team throughout inter just couldn’t seem to get back on level terms and lost out 2-1 Granville holding his nerve well from the penalty spot. After three weeks on the road a home game against Killarney Athletic was welcomed but sloppy defending with two penalties conceded Inter found themselves 2-0 down in the hour it was Granville again who clawed his team back into the game with an Ibrahimović type overhead kick but unfortunately for inter they lost the same player in the dying mins when well on top to a farcical decision by the referee to give him a second yellow( the club appealed it immediately after the game) and that was it for inter. Sporting Listowel having won 3 from 3 were next and throughout inter defended fantastically but in the dying mins conceded against the run of play, it was a brave performance from the lads who deserved at least a draw from this. The squad is growing, performances are getting better and there are a few younger players like Ben Crowley and Daniel Fitzpatrick Mixing well with the more mature players (Donal casey) so the season is far from over for the Bs.

Inter Kenmare Team Sponsors. The 2016/2017 season is now on, with games coming thick and fast for all our teams. We’ll be announcing fantastic Academy sponsorship news in the next edition of The Kenmare news, so watch this space for a big announcement.

Part of the prep for the new season involves getting kits ready. And we need new sets of jerseys urgently for our under 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, and 15s. We have added more teams and players over the last couple of years, and teams have been using kits that were purchased as far back as 2004.
We’d like local businesses to come on board and sponsor team kits. Any new sponsor help pick the jersey design, and we’ll make sure that your logo is prominently displayed on the kit. We’ll provide a full sponsor team photo, advert on the club website and social media sites.
