Exciting plans for Kenmare
Kenmare Tidy Town Committee and KMEG have been Working closely with South Kerry Development Partnership CLG (SKDP) and Kerry County Council who are jointly submitting an application to the LEADER fund through The Kerry Local Action Group (LAG) for funding to develop a Socio Economic Plan for the town.
We are grateful to SKDP and Kerry County Council for driving this application on our behalf. This application is subject to funding being approved in a competitive process.
If approved, the project will take place in two stages.
Initially – Stage 1 Consultation & Planning – A process where a consultant will work to identify and assess what needs should be included in the plan. This will take the form of area based analysis and will include sectoral consultations with, statutory and non-statutory agencies, local businesses and community, sporting and special interest groups, and will include public consultation meetings. It is anticipated that this process will take up to 12 months.
Stage 2 will be the implementation of the plan which will consist of short, medium and long term objectives and actions as set out within the Socio Economic Plan. The implementation process will be spread over a 5 year period, and will involve those who have contributed to the plan, and others becoming directly involved in the implementation of the actions.
The benefit to everyone of a Socio Economic Plan will be an inclusive approach to identifying needs and available resources, and the realisation of completed projects for the benefit of the entire community.
We will keep you informed of our progress.

Great news for the beginning of 2017!
