Talking to The Kenmare News, we were told, “As part of our remit to support families we have an eight week course,‘Supporting Parents to Support Their Teens’ starting on Tuesday 26th September from 7pm – 9pm. This course is run by Mairead O’ Sullivan, counsellor with South West Counselling and it’s cost is by donation. If you are parenting teens and could benefit from a bit of support from other parents in the same boat, then this could be the group for you! Mairead O’ Sullivan is an excellent facilitator, & has years of experience working with teenagers.
“We are offering a second opportunity in 2017 for parents of special needs children to get involved in the Empowering Parent’s program. This six week program starts on Wednesday 27th September at 9.30am and supports parents to acquire the knowledge and skills to effectively advocate on behalf of their special needs children. This programme is delivered by DESSA & funded by ETB.
“Budgeting for Christmas is a continuation of the Eurowatcher’s program that started in May of this year. The second leg of this programme focuses on getting you saving and planning financially for Christmas, with lots of practical and useful tips to be gained. There are plenty of Spending Diaries available in the centre if people want to call in and get one, this spending diary helps you to keep track of your weekly outgoings.
