Cllr Dan McCarthy reports

Roads. I am delighted to see that there is progress being made on the upgrading of the footpath on the Killowen road. I have allocated €10,500 of my councillors allocations for the upgrading of the footpath on the Dromnevane road.
Council motions.
I have asked that Kerry county council write to the HSE to provide the flu vaccination free of cost to everyone this I feel would help with a reduction in the level of sickness in the workplace.
I have also asked that Kerry county council find out who or what organisation is responsible for the collection and disposal of dead wildlife along public roads.
Christmas Shopping. I would like to ask each and every one of you to shop local this Christmas to support local businesses and local jobs.
Road safety. With the long dark evenings it is paramount that each individual who goes walking wear hi visibility clothing and carry a flashlight to ensure the safety of themselves and motorists.
Halloween Howl. Congratulations and well done to all who helped to organise and run the Halloween howl event in Kenmare, great credit is due to each and every one who made this event such a great success.
Cups against Cancer Coffee morning. Well done to the staff of the Lansdowne Arms hotel who organised a coffee morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. It was a privilege to be asked to auction off some raffle prizes, I apologise for my hoarse voice on the day.
Timmys Technology Trouble. Congratulations to Niamh Ahern and Valentina Boschi on the publication of their book Timmys Technology Trouble which Is a very timely book on educating young people on the issues of playing and technology.
Dog Trials. Congratulations to Evan Christian who won the junior sheep dog trials in Tipperary.
