Kenmare Community Care enter Triathlon team

Dermot Corkery Cecilia Scanlon Tanya OSullivan Suzanne Teahan are delighted to announce that they are entering a team for the‘Titan Sports Little Bo Peep Triathlon’ on Saturday 19th July at Star Outdoors.
The team members are; Tanya O’Sullivan representing Taobh Linn Social Centre, co- ordinator Cecilia Scanlon representing Steering Committee Kenmare Family Centre and Dermot Courtney representing a family member of Taobh Linn Housing Scheme.
“This super amateur team has been pieced together for a great cause,” says Tanya, Taobh Linn coordinator who will be doing the 1.5 km swim. “Cecilia will be attempting the 10km run and Dermot will take on the 40 km cycle, none of it for the faint hearted. We have not competed in a triathlon prior to this but it is a fantastic opportunity to get involved as a 3person relay team, while most importantly, raising money to support the running of a counsellor in the Kenmare Family Centre.”
Suzanne Teahan, chairperson of the Kenmare Triathlon Club, has kindly chosen Kenmare Family Centre Counselling to support this year by contributing a portion of this years Triathlon entry fees to the counselling service.
There is a very strong local community base involved in the Kenmare Triathlon Club who are also running a Children’s Duathlon {Cycle & run) the same weekend. If anyone would like to further support the provision of the counselling service please contact Tanya on 064 6648616.
We hope that all the training for the Titan Sports Little Bo Peep triathlon is going well. Remember that you can come along to swim training every Friday evening at 7pm at Star Outdoors. Mentored cycles continue every Monday evening leaving the square at 6.30pm.
Entry for the triathlon can only be done online at www.triathlonireland.com. Click ‘race entries’ on the left hand side of their home page and then scroll down to find our race. If you have any difficulty, please contact us at info@kenmaretri.com.
