Defibrillators: The Annual 31 Card Game for Defibrillators in the Blackwater/Templenoe area took place in Blackwater Tavern in March. €1,170 was raised between 8 tables the Raffle & Donations. Many thanks to all who supported it & brought prizes.
Dine & Dance: The recent Dine & Dance Event (Tea Dance) in Kenmare Bay Hotel on Sunday 31st of was a great success. There was a lovely meal & music was by the Singing Jarvey. 136 people attended from the greater Kenmare area, Kilgarvan, Blackwater, Templenoe, Bonane, Tuosist, Glencar, Killarney, Waterville, Beara etc. Many thanks to all who supported it or brought prizes including Michael Healy Rae TD & Councillor Patrick Connor Scarteen.

Exercise Classes; Exercise & Total Toning Classes in Blackwater Tavern; Exercises for the Less Active on Mondays from 11am to 12md. Classes for the Energetic Monday evening from 7 to 8pm. €5 per Class.

SINGING PERFORMANCE
There was a huge turnout in Blackwater Tavern in April for the singing performance by the Blackwater Singers with Special Guests ‘Finding Your Voice’ Killarney Ladies Singing Group & Mary Culloty O’Sullivan the Musical Director. The Charity chosen by the Blackwater Singers was Crumlin Children’s Hospital as one of the Blackwater Singers Tess O’Connell’s granddaughter Amy had lifesaving heart surgery in Crumlin. The Killarney Singers chose Autism, to get a secure home for Noah Switzer Buckley who has Autism. There were fantastic Raffle Prizes, 1st prize was valued at €200 & 2nd prize €100 and several more great prizes all sponsored. Every penny raised went to the two charities. Refreshments were served after. Many thanks to all who supported the event so generously.

Blackwater Women’s Group; Blackwater Women’s Group meet once a month on the second Tue at 8pm. Membership €5 per year. New Members Welcome. Next Meeting Tue 14th of May at 8pm followed by a Guest Speaker. Annual Membership of €5 now due for renewal if not already paid.

Writer in Residence
Annemarie Ní Churreáin the Writer in Residence with Kerry Co Council was our Guest Speaker in April. She was very inspirational & had every one writing creative pieces in less than an hour. She is coming again in mid June, in the afternoon or morning next time.
Garden Walk
We will be visiting the Garden of Louise & Steve Austin on Monday 6th of May. Looking forward to this beautiful garden.
