Kenmare Locality Animal Welfare Society

It is that time of the year again with the KLAWS calendar up for sale in the Charity Shop by SuperValu. It will make a great stocking filler and will retail at €10. Every euro made from the sale of the calendar will go towards the waifs and strays that are rescued by KLAWS, so please support a worthy cause and PLEASE purchase a calendar.
We are very grateful this year for the businesses that sponsored the calendar, from Kenmare, Henk and Joanna of, Mentor & Mediator Sandra Schmidt, Derry Murphy of Murphy SuperValu, Chris Birchley of Candy Apple Red Guitar, Carina and Staff of All Creatures Vet Centre, Denise of Dens Hens and Niall McNally of Tax Back. From the other side of the Kerry coastline, Darina from Lig Do Scith Apartments, Kaetie Carne of Illig UK Ltd, Helena of CafeCiveen, Elizabeth of Pink Bee Home & Gifts, Susan from The Aquarian Health Shop, T.F. Oleary& Associates, Veterinary Practice and Gail of High Tides Gift Shop. Also a special mention to Tessa Dennison of Dennison Design for working so hard to get the KLAWS calendar collated and printed.
KLAWS would also like to thank the members of the public that continually support the Charity Shop by purchasing goods, and making donations of clothes and bric-a-brac. Sadly, not all of the goods can be sold in the shop especially some types of electrical items and at the moment books cannot be taken in. KLAWS would also request that any clothes being donated are clean and in good condition. This especially applies to shoes, as they need to be “nearly new” or hardly worn. Any shoes that are in a bad condition cannot be accepted for health and hygiene reasons, and the same applies to underwear and swimming gear. As the cost of taking unwanted donated goods has increased at the Recycling Centre, KLAWS needs to use those valuable funds for the animals and not for the disposal of goods not fit for resale in the Charity Shop. Apologies in advance to our loyal customers but goods may be declined at the counter. We need every euro and cent for the animals.
Once again KLAWS asks that goods are not left outside the shop during closing hours as they may get a soaking given the weather lately, and as the shop is open 11am till 5pm Tuesday to Saturday, and 12noon till 4pm on Mondays, that gives the public plenty of time to hand in donations.
