Community Support Fund 2023:
The Council has now issued a call for funding for the 2023 Community Support Fund which is offering Supports to community-based projects and initiatives in Kerry. Applications are welcomed from groups in County Kerry whose primary focus is the development or promotion of the local community or the development of a project that will benefit a group in the community. Applications for funding must come within the definition of one of the following four categories of support:
1.Rebuilding and Reconnecting Communities
2.Community Tidy Town Initiatives and Amenity Projects
3.Community Economic Innovation
4.Community Based Tourism, Festivals and Events
The Community Support Fund 2023 application form is required to be completed electronically, via an online portal. The online application form including the Terms & Conditions of Funding and the Guide to Completion of the form are available on the following link: https://arcg.is/rijfj
The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday the 8th February, 2023

Monthly motions:

2. That KCC calls upon the relevant Government Departments to ensure that laws relating to the control of dogs are strictly adhered to and enforced to ensure that members of the public are kept safe.

Municipal motions:
1. What is the procedure for taking in charge roads, and how many roads in the Municipal District have been taken in charge in the last 5 years.

2. When will the Bonane Road, Kenmare be resurfaced from Mucksna. Currently it is in a shocking state and needs to be resurfaced.

3 That this Municipal District calls upon the Minister for Health to dedicate extra resources to University Hospital Kerry- staffing, extra rooms and medical facilities.

4 That KCC tar and better align the sides of the junction at Cleady Cross, Kenmare where the junction was recently improved.

5 That Kerry County Council please extend the footpath at Killowen, Kenmare adjacent to the R569 Road. There are many houses past the Killowen Cottages and road safety needs to be improved for residents and road users alike.

7 Please arrange for road safety and better access for residents of the Templenoe Pier vicinity in advance of the summer season.

8 That KCC please arrange for extra lights and fix ones not working along the road at Dromneavane, Kenmare.

9 Please ensure that repair and strengthening works are carried out to the wall along the road in the vicinity of Dawros and Feorus, Tuosist, Kenmare to ensure it is protected from coastal erosion.

10 What plans are in place to improve cycling infrastructure throughout the Municipal District.
