Inter Kenmare Fundraiser. We are again organising a market day stall this year to fundraise for Inter Kenmare Soccer Club. Last year proved to be a great success so we want to give it a go again this year. It is that time of year when everyone starts to organise their house for Christmas and making room for Santa. If you have any unwanted clothes (on hangers if possible), shoes, toys, small furniture, lamps, ornaments etc. and these items are clean and in perfect condition, and you think someone else would buy them, then we would love to have them. I will arrange for items to be collected from November 23rd to November 26th. My email is sheilacahalane@gmail.com. Thank you.
U7 / U8 Blitz. A big THANK YOU to all the parents who braved the monsoon like weather in Killarney for the U7 and U8s blitz. The lads enjoyed the games despite the rain and the future looking good for Inter with some very talented players on show.

Sat November 1st Mastergeeha 7-3 Inter
Inter made the journey to Mastergeeha for their first league game of the season and were beaten by a strong home side. There were alot of positives to take out of the game given that 8 of the starting 10 were having their first game for Inter.Dara Casey,Billy Noonan and Timothy o Donoghue all defended well with Micheal Sweeney making some good saves in goal,in midfield Conor Henessey,Ellen Harrington,Yago Cornide and Cathal Murphy caused Mastergeeha all sorts of problems and up front Darren Allman and Jimmy Kelleher will score lots of goals this season.Overall the lads played very well and will only improve for their next game.

Ballyhar 1-1 Inter Kenmare
Inter Kenmare made the trip to Ballyhar for their first league game of the season and came home with a well earned point, that being said they were unlucky to not take all three. Ballyhar started the game the better of the two sides and had some early half chances but Inter where alert and goalkeeper David Chiuciu was off his line early to clear any danger. Inter started to get their game going and where playing well from the back with their full backs starting to get on the ball and creating some lovely passing moves with the Inter midfield. Inter kept the ball well for large periods of the first half but found it hard to find ways through the Ballyhar defence with Boki Nikic being tightly marked by two and three Ballyhar players as they looked to reduce his impact down the left wing. As it started to look like no one was going to make the breakthrough Inter got the lucky break you need to change these games when an Inter attack was broken up but the ball landed at the feet of Boki just inside the box and he controlled and shoot in the blink of an eye leaving the Ballyhar keeper rooted to the spot. Inter really had their tails up now and pressed until the end of the half but Ballyhar held the score to just one at halftime. Inter made their first substitution at the halftime break with Colin Crowley coming on for Joseph Healy who had run himself into the ground in the first half in the holding midfield role breaking up numerous opposition plays. Joseph is a new member of the squad this year and is making a big impression as is the player who was moved to holding midfield Jack Foley who is also a new addition to the squad. Inter started the half nervy and almost let Ballyhar in for a goal but Dan and Cian where keeping things tight in central defence and Inter where soon back where they left off. Inter introduced two more substitutions with striker Dion Murphy making way for Daniel Crowley and holding midfielder Jack Foley making way for Mark Looney. Despite Inter playing some good football and starting to adjust well to what is a new formation for them this year Ballyhar where still dangerous playing fast balls into the channels for their forwards to run onto and they got their equaliser from one such move. An Inter attack was broken down and played quickly through the midfield and onto the forward line with Inter hesitating on two separate tackles Ballyhar worked the ball down the right and a deep cross to the back post was headed powerfully to the net. Inter seemed a bit unsettled by this and a little too much confidence by the Inter keeper had hearts in mouths as he went to round the Ballyhar forward and almost got caught but made the pass to his teammate just in time. Tom Murnaneand Boki where starting to get a little more time and space on the ball and really it looked like a matter of time before Inter added a second. Inter made their final substitution with Dylan Cusack coming off for DarraghO’Brien who immediately got the ball, turned and took on the isolated full back making ground before Ballyharforced it out for a throw. Inter pressed on with chances falling to Colin, Bokiand Tom but final touch was hard to make count as Ballyhar pressed hard and gave little time to dwell on the ball anywhere around their box. In the end Inter have come away from a good Ballyhar team with a point and while they may feel they had the chances to win the game a point away to Ballyhar first game of the season is a great start to what looks like a promising season.

Camp 6-1 Inter Kenmare
Inter kenmare made the long journey to camp with a squad reduced in number due to illness and other commitments. After the coin toss Inter had another obstacle to deal with in playing against a strong wind for the first half. Inter started the game well enough competing with a strong camp side but after about 5 minutes the wind started to make a difference on the game with Inter finding it difficult to make headway out of their half. Camp on the other hand we’re finding it much easier to make quick changes from defense to attack with the aid of the strong wind at their back and helped themselves to a 5 nil lead at halftime. The second half proved to be a much more even affair with Inter keeping possession well but finding it difficult to get true a strong camp defense. Inevitably the goal came with good work down the right by Cory Murphy and a finish by Tom Murnane. Inter were now finding space easier to come by and were making Camp work hard but were unable to convert chances into goals. Camp we’re still a treat going forward and a free from just outside the box was hit over the Inter wall and into the net. Inter kept playing until the very end and showed great determination in a second half which finished 1:1. It is worth noting that camp are one of the strongest teams in this division and a full strenght Inter Kenmare team will be a far tougher proposition at home.
